About the Program!
“Depi Bardzunk” is one of the cornerstone initiatives of our educational movement. It is a club-based program focused on personal growth and community development, designed for school-aged students.
“Depi Bardzunk” is a learning environment, a pool of expertise, and a methodology aimed at fostering students’ continuous personal development, promoting ecological awareness, shaping an active and responsible civic mindset, and supporting effective orientation in a rapidly changing labor market.
Why It Matters
The project engages students in grades 7–12. At this stage of school education, students face the important task of clarifying their future plans, identifying their paths of professional development, and understanding the level of responsibility they hold toward their school, community, and society as a whole.
These issues are especially relevant today, as the country is undergoing profound transformations, while globally the world is experiencing complex realignments, technological breakthroughs, and multiple planetary-scale challenges.
In this context, it is critically important to foster a strong drive for continuous personal development among students and to support them in navigating contemporary realities and adopting an active and responsible position.
How It Works?
The educational program is developed and implemented by volunteers and an expert team of the Bardzunk Educational Movement. The program is built around four core areas of focus:
- Personal growth
- School–community–state connection
- Human–nature relationship
- Career guidance
The program is enriched with gamification elements, where participants earn coins named after Armenian mountains — from Mount Ara to Mount Ararat. Each meaningful participation, completed project, or newly acquired skill brings additional coins, which can later be exchanged for various rewards.
You can learn more about this system in our Leaders’ Board.
Geography & Timeline
The first “Depi Bardzunk” club was established in 2022 in the village of Ayntap, Ararat Province. Today, Depi Bardzunk clubs operate in 39 schools across 9 regions of Armenia and in Yerevan.
Program Outcomes
At the end of the program — which is also a new beginning, as our journey with club members is ongoing — students can:
- Develop their own personal growth projects and sustain continuous learning through diverse educational tools;
- Work more effectively with literature and online educational resources;
- Apply innovative, AI-based work tools and operate within hybrid work environments supported by such technologies;
- Adopt and practice environmentally responsible lifestyles that minimize harm to nature, with mindful care for their immediate ecological surroundings;
- Better understand and appreciate the natural, biological, and historical-cultural heritage of the Republic of Armenia;
- Analyze challenges at different community levels (school, community, state, and planet) and design innovative and creative solutions;
- Navigate a rapidly transforming labor market and recognize both declining and emerging professions.
What You Should Know
Within the framework of the project, the goal for the next 10 years is to establish clubs in 200 schools, engaging at least 20% of students in each school.
Support the program. With your contribution, help young people learn, grow stronger, and rise today.
