Our Story

The Bardzunk educational and volunteer movement was founded in 2020, in the immediate aftermath of the Second Artsakh War. Its founders are active civic leaders, including volunteers who took part throughout the war as members of the “Tigran the Great” territorial defense unit.

Bardzunk was born out of continuous, 24/7 discussions that began on November 10. Public figures, experts, and thought leaders came together with a shared purpose: to analyze and comprehend the post-war reality, uncover its causes and consequences, define future directions, and take decisive action. It became clear that short-term solutions had reached their limits, and what was needed was the courage and responsibility to embrace long-term, systemic change.

During its first two years, the organization operated through around eight professional working groups. Their mission was to identify sector-specific challenges, outline potential solutions, and develop small-scale models that could be implemented and serve as practical examples.

Across every field they explored, one core issue consistently emerged: education. As a result, Bardzunk clearly defined its primary focus — placing education at the center of its mission and committing to the development of systemic solutions within this field.

For the Bardzunk community, education is both a tool and a path — a journey toward the Armenian homeland of our dreams.

The “Armenian Homeland” ideological and conceptual map represents our vision for the future of our country. Guided by this vision, we move forward by educating and uniting those who are committed to building and sustaining our homeland.
